The work of Chinese designers is powerfully influenced by history and tradition especially among the older generations. Along with ancestral techniques, the influence of past generations – from the Ming style to the present – the past is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the generation to come. However the new generations are very tech savvy and are striving to move away from constantly sourcing the past for contemporary creativity. They are seeking a contemporary identity as a driving force behind the dynamic Chinese créative scène.
