Paris, November 20th 2018, PIASA will dedicate its fourth sale to the famous Venetian glass works Venini and its prestigious collaborations with the most important modern and contemporary designers: Ettore Sottsass, Tadao Ando, Ron Arad, Fluvio Bianconi, Fernando &Umberto Campana, Gio Ponti, Timo Sarpaneva, Carlo Scarpa. The pieces, most of which are prototypes and artist's proofs, all come from the Venini Museum. The great architect Tadao Ando is presented here with two artists' proofs, a first vase from 2017, which perfectly illustrates his work: a blown glass architecture with very pure, geometric volumes, which plays with light, its signature, thus allowing to perceive all the contrasts of glass, a real technical feat of Venini's workshops, estimated between 20 000 / 30 000€.

Another important signature is Ron Arad, the Israeli designer, whose work is characterised by pure, simple, unconventional forms with a taste for curves, which places him in the line of sculptor designers, as shown by the two vases, from this first part of the sale, in blown glass and metal from 2014, estimated at between 7,000 / 9,000 €.
