On Wednesday, May 17th, PIASA is organizing the sale of a collection of objects and works of art sourced from an eccentric home.
In this decor that sits between dreams of antiquity and modernity, this collectors' duo has managed to bring together the spirit of two centuries in perfect harmony.

François Joseph Kinson (1771-1839)
Portrait of a veiled young girl
Estimate: 2000 / 3000 €
Furniture, sculptures, and objects reflect the duo's pronounced taste for antiquity and what is known in the decorative arts as "the return from Egypt", particularly appreciated by the Jacob brothers, cabinetmakers to Napoleon I. We also find plasterwork by Diane de Gabies, Corinthian columns, and scholarly objects based on the classics of Greek and ancient mythology, which decorate the marble consoles and mahogany chest of drawers, while an armchair copied from an Egyptian throne shines in the center of the staircase. The ensemble is completed by 18th and 19th century portraits that stand out perfectly against the green walls. The historicist decor is underlined by a set of iconic modern ceramics, including tables decorated with Roger Capron tiles, Jacques Blin's shapes, and pottery from the Madoura workshop in Vallauris.

Roger Capron (1922-2006)
Three tables called 'Navette'
Estimate: 4000 / 6000 €
