On 14 May, PIASA will present an auction dedicated to the work of French designer Eric Schmitt, and more specifically to his work with glass.
From the outset, Eric Schmitt has worked with glass: first with pâte de verre in collaboration with Daum, then with Bohemian blown glass in collaboration with a Czech workshop with which he developed a close working relationship.
The sale presents a panorama of these pieces, many of which are unique, as well as several works in bronze and wood.
A new edition of Contemporary Design will follow the auction. It will bridge the gap between the second half of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first through a selection of creations by the greatest figures in international contemporary design, such as Ettore Sottsass, Ron Arad, Vincenzo de Cotiis and Nacho Carbonell.
