On Thursday June 10th, PIASA is offering an American and Brazilian design auction representing the production of the 1950s to 1970s.
This sale will be held in two parts: the first session will include 136 lots of American design, with works by leading figures in the field (George Nakashima, Paul Evans, Judy McKie, etc.), while the second session will feature 57 lots of furniture by Brazilian designers such as José Zanine Caldas, Joaquim Tenreiro, Jorge Zalszupin, etc.
The American and Brazilian design sales organised by PIASA have become a popular meeting place for design collectors, who are keen to see this unusual configuration. This spring's sale brings together an exceptional catalogue of 193 lots representative of design creation in the United States and Brazil during the second half of the 20th century.
The American catalogue includes a significant group of furniture by designer George Nakashima, no less than 24 pieces, as well as remarkable works by Paul Evans, Judy McKie and Terence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings, represented by some 15 lots.
