On the occasion of the vacation "The AD style", result of the partnership between PIASA and the famous magazine AD, the design department presents this Wednesday, December 16th, a selection of pieces that give pride of place to today's decorators.
Garouste and Bonetti Elizabeth Garouste, (born 1946) and Mattia Bonetti, (born 1952)
Decorators and designers, Elizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti developed between 1980 and 2002 a common work. Their association began with the layout of the private club Le Privilège within the Le Palace nightclub. This was followed by a collection of terracotta, bronze and wrought iron furniture at the Jansen Gallery, including the landmark Barbaric Chair. In 1987, the duo decorated the couture salons of the house of Christian Lacroix. This was followed by packaging for Nina Ricci, many private projects and furniture collections. Before the duo split up.
Vincent Darré (Born in 1959)
Decorator, but also costume designer, artistic director, long time fashion designer and, since the "Palace years", an essential figure of the All-Paris, Vincent Darré is a talent with more than one facet. A great admirer of the surrealists, he designs whimsical decors and, since 2008, has been publishing Dadaist furniture. You can discover his colorful universe in the Montana suites in Saint-Germain-des-Prés: six suites designed in the spirit of Parisian apartments.

Paula Swinnen (Born in 1964)
Belgian animal sculptor and creator of exceptional furniture, Paula Swinnen masters the lost wax technique and follows each step of the conception of her works with narrative poetry. She learns drawing at the School of Fine Arts during the day and at the Academy of Ixelles at night, then discovers her passion: "drawing in bronze". Her representations of fauna and nature become statuettes as coffee tables.

Thomas Boog (Born in 1959)
Creator of singular objects, Thomas Boog draws his inspiration from the seabed. He transmutes corals, shells and mother-of-pearl into decorative objects and rockery furniture. Impervious to fashions but sensitive to changing tastes and lifestyles, he has been constantly evolving his research on textures, colors and compositions of elements borrowed from nature for the past twenty years. Baroque at the beginning, his creations are now more graphic.

René Broissand (1928-2019)
Sculptor, René Broissand is a self-taught. Born in Tunisia, he works, as a young man, on a cargo ship where he becomes a welder. After a stint at the Ministry of the Navy in Paris, he decided to devote himself fully to metal at the end of the 1950s. He then creates his first works, raw and poetic at the same time, using steel, stainless steel, aluminum and brass. The bird is his favorite subject. Living in Annecy from 1970, we find several of his sculptures in the public space of the city.
