Hokuto No Ken
Production celluloid painted with India ink and acrylic, depicting Raoh (Ken-oh, which
literally translates to “King of Fists”) fighting Juza of the Clouds, in this legendary battle that begins with Juza humiliating Raoh by stealing his iconic steed Kokuo to force the conqueror to face him; they engage in a fierce battle unfolding on screen—it’s one of the rare times we see Raoh in trouble but despite this, Raoh emerges victorious and ends Juza’s life. The King of Fists is left breathless and in awe of his opponent’s loyalty and tenacity; Raoh therefore orders his soldiers to prepare a funeral for his opponent instead of leaving his body in the desolate wilderness.
