Note: West created the 'Passstücke' series, sculptures made of plaster, polyester, metal and papier-mache, conceived as extensions of the body. In his performances, he demonstrates how the sculptures can be used. His communicative approach to inviting his audience to participate actively is characteristic of his work. He stimulates the audience, but also unsettles them. Thus, West describes the 'Passstücke' as representations of neuroses. Our thanks to the Franz West Archive for the information they kindly provided.
The purchaser will be issued with a statement of inclusion in the artist's catalogue raisonné by the Archiv Franz West.
