Note : twelve of these sculptures, each unique, were presented at the "L'Ultima Cera" exhibition at the Salone in Milan and in the San Bernardino alle Monache church, a 15 th c. building.
The process begins with a large extruder suspended from the ceiling, designed for working wax. Powered by an electric motor that exerts more than 4,000 pounds of pressure on the material, the wax is forced through various molds and dies and drops into a basin of cold water, where the artist shapes it by hand into its final form. Once set, the pieces are cast in bronze using the lost-wax technique.
