Vase - Model 13984, 'Sommerso'
Murano glass
Edited by Seguso Vetri d'Arte
Model created circa 1969
H 26 ר 20 cm
Note: Mario Pinzoni (1927–1993) was a designer
and master glassblower from Murano, best known
for his work at Seguso Vetri d'Arte, one of the
island's most prestigious glass workshops. Following Flavio Poli's departure in March 1963, he took over
as artistic director, ensuring both continuity and
renewal of the house's creative output. The
sommerso technique, literally "submerged" in Italian,
consists of layering different casing of coloured glass while fusing them harmoniously together. Bibliography: M. Heiremans, 'Seguso Vetri
D'Arte: Glass Objects from Murano (1932 1973)',
