Chaise longue
Imbuia and leather
Edited by Laubisch & Hirth
Model created circa 1942
H 79 × L 160 × W 59,5 cm
Note: Model created for the residence of Francisco Inácio Peixoto in Cataguases. The house was designed by Oscar Niemeyer and the gardens by Burle Marx. The manufacturing of all the furniture was entrusted to Laubisch-Hirth, the most important furniture manufacturer in the country at the time Joaquim Tenreiro was working. The preparatory drawing shows seven models were planned, but only three have been produced to our knowledge: two located in the listed residence of Francisco Inácio Peixoto in Cataguases and our model.
Provenance:
- Model created for the residence of Francisco Inácio Peixoto in Cataguases for Benedeta Hirth
- Collection of Roberto Hirth, heir of the eponymous publisher
- Purchased from the latter
The buyer can be provided with a copy of the preparatory drawing and a copy of the provenance attestation letter from Roberto Hirth
