Note: According to Amarante Szidon (the artist's daughter), this work features a background from the extremely rare second state of Plate E from the drypoint series created at the Lacouriere-Frelaut workshop in 1981-82.
This print series was the subject of a radio broadcast on France Culture and was also published in a catalogue titled "Gravures 1981-82" by Editions Lacouriere-Frelaut, featuring a preface by Michel Faucher. This second state of Plate E is so rare that it is not even reproduced in the catalogue, where it is noted as missing. This is likely because the only existing print (or prints) had already been used to make one or more collages by the time the catalogue was being produced.
