Studio Dimore

17 June 2020

As part of the "AD style" sale, celebrating the partnership between the famous magazine and the House of PIASA on Wednesday 17 June 2020, the design department presents four rooms from the Milanese studio Dimore.

At the confluence of art, design and fashion, Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci founded in 2003 the decoration firm Studio Dimore. The first is a graphic designer from North Carolina in the United States, the second is a furniture manufacturer born in Tuscany. With great success, the two men pool their respective worlds to create an original aesthetic. Within a few years, their studio has established itself as one of the most creative players in the world of interior design. Studio Dimore is inspired by an alchemy of emotions, made up of unexpected choices, inventions, appreciations and plays of light, as evidenced by their latest participation at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Among the pieces offered for sale on Wednesday 17 June 2020, the "Tavolo 030" model table in oxidised brass and lacquered wood illustrates particularly well the spirit of the studio. Carried out in 2005, it is estimated at between 4,000 and 6,000 euros. The pure composition of its forms is combined with a very lively chromaticism that can be found, for example, in this pair of "Poltrona 008" armchairs.

Dated 2006, the latter in brushed brass and velvet is composed of geometrical surfaces giving the whole a real aesthetic coherence. Their estimates have been established at between 4 000 and 6 000 euros.

Emblematic of an assumed relationship with abstraction, the coffee table "Tavolo Basso 066" is the fruit of the encounter between metal and wood. It was a special order for a fashion show in Milan.

In 2019, PIASA had initiated an ambitious session exclusively dedicated to the Dimore studio. The success of the collection is a good indication of the keen interest that this Milanese furniture is attracting from both French and international collectors.
