On Thursday October 28th, PIASA held an auction dedicated to 20th century Scandinavian Design, which provided a good overview of furniture production in the Nordic countries, more specifically between the 1920s and the 1960s.
Iconic lighting fixtures were presented, such as this exceptional suspension lamp by Paavo Tynell, which sold for over €50,000. Collectors and enthusiasts were able to bid on a fine selection of historic chairs and tables, including a suite of ten Poem chairs by Erik Chambert that sold for €48,100. A fine collection of Scandinavian ceramics was also on sale, as well as an exceptional selection of Swedish rugs, including several pieces by Märta Måås-Fjetterström and Barbro Nilsson.
