DESIGN. A COLLECTOR OF GEORGE NAKASHIMA

A remarkable ensemble of 18 pieces by George Nakashima and his daughter Mira has been assembled by Swiss collector Jeffrey Montgomery, who passed away last year. For more than forty years, he devoted himself to building one of the most outstanding collections of Japanese folk art outside Japan. These lots will be offered for sale on March 24, 2026 at 4:30 PM, to our great delight.

ART + DESIGN. AN EYE FOR MODERN FORM

The collection presented in this sale reveals the keen eye and refined taste of a collector, particularly for the functionalist modernism of the 1950s–1970s, set in dialogue with the more sculptural or conceptual expressiveness of works from the late 20th to early 21st century. It will take place on Tuesday, March 24 at 5:00 PM at PIASA.

Moving between contemporary materials (Studio Job, Yonel Lebovici, Ron Arad) and vintage forms, the sale features leading designers of our time, expressing themselves through either purist and radical forms (Poul Kjærholm, Jean Prouvé) or a more organic sobriety (Charlotte Perriand).

ART + DESIGN FROM LONDON TO PARIS

This sale, which will begin on Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30 PM, stands out from the first two through its cosmopolitan and eclectic character, combining collectible design, contemporary art, and photography.

From timeless Scandinavian design (Hans Wegner, Alvar Aalto…) to more graphic artworks (Kenneth Noland, Bernard Frize, Decrauzat…), the ensemble reflects the taste of a sophisticated London-based collector, drawn both to iconic objects and to more abstract or conceptual lines. Thus, major design figures such as Andrea Branzi and Oscar Niemeyer are presented alongside renowned artists such as Andres Serrano and Manolo Valdés.
