With an overall result of close to €2,400,000 for its two auctions on September 30th, PIASA has confirmed its position as a leading actor in 20th century French decorative arts - while also confirming its leadership in the global Historical Design market.
Ceramic collectors were very enthusiastic about the catalogue devoted to the potters of Vallauris and some fine bids set new records, such as for a double soliflore by Gilbert Valentin (€13,000), a raku sculpture by Roger Capron (€18,850) and a monumental lamp by Suzanne Ramié (€19,500).
The second sale, French Design, saw bids soar to €2 014 220.
