Présence Panchounette: Trompette sous un crabe

5 December 2022

PIASA is organizing a sale of modern and contemporary art on Wednesday, December 7th.

"Trumpet under a crab" is a spoonerism of "storm under a skull", a reconstruction based on an illustration and description. There are 3 copies of this work, all of them different.

Note a similarity between the Incoherents and PP: funny names of artists, fictions of artists, and artists in collective names. PP is clearly on the side of the Incoherents. By elegance, PP does not forget to put itself under the fires of its own criticism: everything already exists.

Estimate: 10000 / 150000 €

"Trompette sous un crabe (Trumpet Under A Crab)", or "Tempête sous un crâne (Storm Under A Skull)" is a Panchounette of Panchounette as much as it is a Panchounette of the Incoherents. The plastic crab that decorates the second home is very Panchounette. Through the quotation of the Incohérents, PP establishes a historical continuity which is not that of the avant-garde.
