On February 7, 2018, PIASA started this new season with a European Glass auction sale. Almost 70% of the auctioned pieces were sold, with more than 350 000 euros as a result. This unpublished set of 135 pieces came from various major fire creation centers like Italy, France or Scandinavia. Collectors have been able to enjoy important pieces from Daum in France, Fulvio Bianconi or Carlo Scarpa in Italy, or the Orrefors factory in Sweden.
On the top, an exceptional Paolo Venini's vase in blown glass from 1953 reached 27 300 euros with fees, widely exceeding its estimate of 6 000 - 9 000 euros. The cup of Daum manufacture has also attracted the attention of collectors, estimated at 2 000 - 3 000 euros it has been sold for 9 100 euros with fees.

The auction also took off for the Ercole Barovier vase in blown glass, estimated at 1 200 - 1 800 euros, it was acquired for 8 060 euros, including fees. Another significant result was achieved by a Napoleone Martinuzzi vase in glass, dated 1928-1930 and awarded 11 050 euros fees included.

Finally, a Unica vase in blown glass by Andries Dirk Copier (1901-1991) was awarded 9 100 euros, including buyer's fees.

Looking at this Italian glassware auction sale, and at the previous one – 2014, 2015 and 2017 - the Parisian house continues to shine in this field and thus inaugurates a beautiful sales season.
