Many designers dream of designing the perfect chair, the chair that expresses itself in the most optimal form. Borge Mogensen was in search of timelessness; Arne Jacobsen wanted to achieve total harmony of time and form. Wegener, on the other hand, takes a different approach. Indeed, he draws and produces as much as possible but is aware that it is impossible to design "the perfect chair" even this is what he strives for.

Another emblematic Wegener model is the Flag Halyard chair model designed in the 1960s. With this design, Wegner pays tribute to early modernists such as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer, and proves that he also masters the use of chrome steel tubes. The flat surfaces of the chair are made of a long and unique halyard, covered with a sheepskin that softens the industrial coldness of steel.
