The Italian Design sale on Wednesday 27 March 2019 is the opportunity for PIASA to present several pieces created by the designer Franco Albini, a figure of Italian rationalism.
Franco Albini graduated as an architect from the Politecnico di Milano in 1929 and began his career with Gio Ponti. He participated in the editorial staff of the magazine "Casabella" and became one of the spokespersons for the Italian cultural panorama. He exhibited his work at the Milan Triennial and opened his first study in 1931.

During his life, Albini worked with several mid-century manufacturers, such as Poggi, with whom he designed the PL19 chair model and the TN6 pedestal table model, known as the Cicognino, which has become an icon of design. He received many awards, including three Compasso d'Oro Awards.
