On Wednesday November 15, PIASA is organizing a second session of sales from the Pascal Marziano collection.
Comprising 138 lots, this sale complements the one held in April 2022, which focused exclusively on the production of ceramics in France between the 1950s and 1970s. For this second phase, Pascal Marziano offers a wider selection of works, including paintings, drawings, ceramics... produced by artistic figures such as Hans Hartung, Michel Lucotte, Jacques & Dani Ruelland, Picasso, Michel Anasse, Kristin McKirdy, André Aleth Masson...
Lot 03 | Michel Lucotte
Funambule lightning rod
Estimate: 15000 / 20000 €
Following the success of the April 2022 sale, PIASA is offering a second sale of pieces from the Pascal Marziano collection. As he likes to call himself, Pascal Marziano is a true "ceramics enthusiast" - he is also a professional philatelist - who was seduced, just over ten years ago, by this expression of both craftsmanship and artistry.
While the first session focused exclusively on ceramic production in France from the 1950s to the 1970s, with a clear emphasis on design pieces, this second session takes a broader look at the pieces acquired by the collector.
Lot 19 | André Aleth Masson
Two-lobed vase
Estimate: €8000 / €12000
The sale catalog includes pictorial works by Hans Hartung, metal sculptures by Michel Lucotte and Michel Anasse, and of course ceramics by Georges Jouve, André-Aleth Masson, Kristin McKirdy... except that these pieces are more concerned with illustrating the sculptural dimension of this type of creation rather than its utilitarian character. A case in point is Picasso's Pomone plaque, or this pair of unusually shaped vases by Jacques & Dani Ruelland.
Lot 127 | François Raty
Two figures, 1961
Estimate: €1,000 / €1,500
Lot 26 | Georges Jouve
Sirène' lamp
Estimate: €5000 / €8000
Please note that on Saturday November 11, from 2 to 6 pm, during the sale exhibition, PIASA will welcome Christine Lavenu, Graziella Semerciyan, Marie-Pascale Suhard and François Lippmann, Jean-Jacques and Bénédicte Wattel, as well as Philippe Chambost, Pascal Marziano and Arnaud Serpollet for a book presentation.
