The auction happening on Thursday 25th April organized by PIASA in partnership with the AD magazine, will feature several major figures from the 1970s such as the Italian architect and designer Luigi Caccia Dominioni or Belgian artist Ado Chale.
Gabriella Crespi (1922-2017)
Gabriella Crespi (1922-2017), who created furniture that oscillated between sculpture and goldsmithing, remains a mythical figure in the glamour of the 1960s and 1970s. From jewellery to furniture, as well as animal sculpture, her production is overwhelming. Mixing metals such as brass and steel, wood, marble, plexiglass or shells, she creates virtuoso curiosities.

Costa Coulentianos (1918-1995)
A French-Greek sculptor, Costa Coulentianos began his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Athens. After getting a scholarship from France, he moved to Paris in 1945. He was then involved in the pictorial movements of his time, frequented Zadkine's studio and participated in the Salon de mai. His favourite materials are metals, whether bronze, aluminium or, above all, iron in its various alloys. He works them by hand without any intervention of machines and without any preliminary plan. Her favourite themes include aerial themes - acrobat, bird - and the female body.

Luigi Caccia Dominioni (1913-2016)
Italian architect and designer graduated from the Milan Polytechnic School, he founded his agency in collaboration with Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Pioneers in the industrial design sector, they presented a series of radio equipment at the 7th Milan Triennial. The 1950s saw the birth of the publisher Azucena, where Luigi Caccia Dominioni distinguished himself in furniture and lighting, with Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell'Acqua. His style exudes elegance through the use of red velvet, brass, black lacquers... a chic but rational comfort, echoing the many offices and residential buildings he has built in the Lombardy capital.

Ado Chale (born in 1928)
Creator of precious furniture, Ado Chale, whose real name is Adolphe Pelsener, lives and works in Belgium. Since the late 1960s, he has been creating rare table tops made of epoxy resin inlaid with semi-precious stones. Fossilized redwood, malachite, lapis lazuli or jade illuminate his artistic furniture.
