Børge Mogensen, a powerful and rustic style

Among the most emblematic pieces made by the designer Børge Mogensen is the chair model n°226 "Spanish Chair", a pair of which will be presented at this sale. This series was then produced by Erhard Rasmussen in 1951 and then resumed in the 1960s by Fredericia Furniture.  The combination of oak and leather gives the chairs a elegant and robust appearance to the chair, so characteristic of the designer's innovative style of purifying the lines to modernize their appearance and keep only the essential.

This new model 3237 succeeding the "spanish chair" model has a stretched leather backrest that also provides optimal back support.  The combination of wood and leather gives the chair a powerful and rustic appearance, typical of Borge Mogensen's distinctive style. Mogensen was constantly striving to harmonize the forms and function of furniture: according to him, small adjustments and attention to detail make all the difference.
