With a total result of €986,700, the Contemporary African Art was a great success. The results once again demonstrate the excellence of the PIASA auction house in this area. The set of nearly 150 modern and contemporary works on all media featured the greatest names in the African art scene, foremost among them Ian Mwesiga, JP Mika, Aboudia, Amadou Sanogo, Bambo Sibiya.
The highest bid of the sale goes to the work "Tokoos 3" by Saint Etienne Yéanzi sold for 67 600 € for an estimate of 5 000 to 8 000 €.

Another important artwork of the sale, Ian Mwesigae's "The telephone call" oil on canvas, estimated €15,000 to €25,000, was finally sold for €46,800 after a battle of bids in the auction hall and on the phone.
