After graduating from the Helsinki University of Technology, Marta Blomstedt (born von Willebrand) worked in several architecture agencies in the city of Turku in 1922 before undertake an ambitious travel in Italy and in France until 1929.
Only then, alongside her husband, the architect Pauli Ernesti Blomstedt with whom she collaborates, she played an important role in the success of the Finnish Modern Movement. After the death of her husband in 1930, she was with Matti Lampén (1906-1961) to create her own company "Blomstedt & Lampén".
In the context of reconstruction after the successive bombings in Finland, the film studio is over, the Aulanko hotel. Its sober and clean lines merge with the style of the functionalist. In the early 1960s and after the death of Matti Lampén, she formed a new partnership with Olli Penttilä. They built the Vuorimiehentie II building on the campus of the Technical University of Helsinki as well as apartments in Oulu, in north-western Finland.

Another pair of armchairs, serial number was awarded by PIASA February 15, 2018 for a sum of 52 000 euros, well above its estimate high protected to 35 000 euros. An active member of the Finnish Association of Architects, she was also one of the founders of the Association of Women Architects in 1943.
