Italian Glass from One Private Collection

On Wednesday November 23rd, PIASA is organizing an exceptional sale of Italian glass from a private collection.

This collection of glass pieces was assembled by an enlightened amateur over the course of the last few decades. It is a remarkable inventory of the various shaping techniques unique to the glass workshops of Murano.

Each one is illustrated through distinct styles that make up the richness of Murano glass. In the collection, there are several noteworthy sets emblematic of the greatest creators of this glass art: Ercole Barovier, Paolo Venini, Fulvio Bianconi, Napoleone Martinuzzi, Flavio Poli, and Archimede Seguso, as well as several pieces created by designers including Gio Ponti, Ettore Sottsass, and Carlo Scarpa, who have tried their hand at the practice.
