On Thursday April 4, PIASA is organizing a sale of 20th century design based on two distinct yet complementary themes: Finnish lighting design and Brazilian furniture design. PIASA has taken up the challenge of bringing together in a single sale two design selections, each with its own distinct identity, which are highly complementary in their visual approach.
The first catalog, compiled in partnership with the Finnish auction house Annmaris, features 78 lighting fixtures (floor lamps, bedside lamps, pendant lights, etc.). Alongside an important group of Paavo Tynell's creations, we find a number of works by Itsu, Mauri Almari, Gunilla Jung, Tapio Wirkkala, Lisa Johansson-Pape,...
The second catalog honours the great figures of Brazilian design: Oscar Niemeyer, Joaquim Tenreiro, Sergio Rodrigues, Jorge Zalszupin, Giuseppe Scapinelli. The selection of lots is limited to furniture and a few decorative objects.
