On Thursday July 8th, PIASA is organising a two-part auction dedicated to 20th and 21st century furniture design. The first session, featuring 82 lots, will focus on the creations of the Italian duo Dimorestudio.
Dimoremilano is the label housing the furniture, fabric, decorative and home collections by Dimorestudio founders Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci, officially born in 2019 but establishing its legacy since 2005 with a variety of product lines. Rooted in the prestigious worldwide reputation of Milanese design and relying on a network of Italy’s best traditional artisans and manufacturers, the pieces nod to the country’s craft culture as well as push it forward in a bold way, remaining loyal to the style and identity from where it all began.
Moran, a North Carolina-born former graphic designer, and Salci, a former art director at Cappellini who was born in Arezzo in Tuscany, are a perfect fusion of talents. The story of their journey began in the same Milan location where Dimore currently operates and it developed and grew - year after year - thanks to a skilful combination of decoration, objects, modern art, important mid-century pieces, and finally, elements and spaces that they designed and produced themselves.
At the crossroads of the worlds of art, fashion, cinema and travel, Dimore celebrates the creative richness of design and architecture through contemporary works and concepts, with multiple inspirations and a recognizable and one-of-a-kind aesthetics. That signature vision inhabits Dimoremilano pieces, with their bold, streamlined shapes, and audacious but non-contrasting colors. The complex mix of styles, periods, materials and patterns results in unforeseen harmony, rendering each object unique, unconventional but concrete, and achieving a cohesive experience always finding the balance beyond the unexpected.
