On Wednesday June 23, PIASA is holding a design auction in Brussels that provides an overview of design from the 1900s to the present day. The sale includes no less than 282 lots offering a wide range of furniture types (seats, tables, lighting, accessories).
PIASA regularly holds a design auction in the Patinoire Royale in Brussels, illustrating the trends and periods that the auction house is keen to promote on the market.
In a way, it is a summary of the design offer that characterises the sales held throughout the year. There are several remarkable pieces by American, Italian, Scandinavian and Brazilian designers, including a fine group - lots 88 to 94 - of ceramics by Ettore Sottsass. Also noteworthy is a selection of pieces by Christian Astuguevieille (lots 97 to 105) as well as several creations by Gigi Barba (lots 181 to 189) directly from the artist's collection.
