PIASA is organizing an upcoming sale dedicated to 20th century design, featuring a wide selection of furniture (seats, tables, lighting, accessories) signed by major Scandinavian, Japanese, Italian, French, Brazilian, and American designers.

Starting at 5pm, the sale is based on a more general selection of objects signed by the great figures of mid-20th century design. We find the work of illustrious designers such as Frenchmen Max Ingrand and Charlotte Perriand; Japanese Americans Isamu Noguchi and George Nakashima; Brazilians José Zanine Caldas and Oscar Niemeyer; Danes Hans J. Wegner, Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen... Finnish Alvar Aalto; Italians Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa and Ettore Sottsass. Among the many pieces on display are the iconic Zig Zag chair by Gerrit Rietveld, several lighting fixtures by Studio B.B.P.R and Paavo Tynell, a pine and hammered iron cabinet by Axel Einar Hjorth, a rocking chair by Franco Albini and a "hammock" by artist Alexander Calder, which is part painting and part relaxation accessory.
