PIASA is holding an auction dedicated entirely to ceramics from a private collection.

"I am interested in the human, the living, the individual and the object, in the idea that each object is an encounter. We could say there is a carnal relationship with the object, the craftsman and the worker."

She was first fascinated by the ceramics of the French Riviera where she lived at the time: Vallauris, of course, Antibes, Biot... She is fascinated by the gestures, the hands, the shapes and materials, the nuances, the clay and the fire. She quickly met Roger Capron, Gilbert Portanier, Jean Derval, Albet Thiry, Jacky Coville, Hans Helberg and many others... Over the years, her eye has been drawn to the production of the most remarkable workshops of the 50s and 70s.

Progressively, she collected ceramics from the MADOURA workshop, whose touch, organic forms and Picasso's destiny she loved. Back in the Paris region, she widens her quest for unique pieces to sculptural and even architectural forms. She meets Valentine Schlegel and Claude Champy. Numerous ceramics dispersed in the auction testify to this new direction.

PIASA is pleased to present this collection gathered under the eye of a visionary aesthete.
