Confirming PIASA's commitment for specialised auctions, this new session of (very) Contemporary Art takes the decision to put up for sale on Wednesday May 12, 2021, about a hundred pieces of art from a Belgian private collector.
For the most part, the pieces were acquired from the 1990s to the present day, often at key periods in the artists' careers. In fact, each of the works is perfectly in tune with its period of production, of which it is ultimately a form of artistic witness.
Among the selection, there is an important body of French artists (Stéphane Calais, Pascal Pinaud, Pierre Bismuth, Lionel Estève...) as well as a remarkable representation of the current Belgian scene (Benoît Plateus, Michel François...).
Claire Fontaine (collectif fonded in 2004)

Several major figures of the international scene are also present, including the Bulgarian Nedko Solakov, the British Douglas Gordon, the German Michael Sailstorfer and the Dane Jeppe Hein. Finally, a selection of more historical artists (Claude Rutault, Bernard Bazile, Alan Charlton, Jacques Charlier, Yona Friedman, Richard Nonas, Candida Höfer...) allows us to put into perspective the dynamics of the most current creation.
