  • Jérôme Clément

    Chairman of the Board

    After working for the French Culture Ministry, Jérôme Clément became Cultural Advisor at the French Embassy in Egypt, then Advisor for Culture & Communication to Prime Minister Pierre Mauroy. He was appointed Director General of the Centre National de la Cinématographie in 1984, and has devoted his professional life to culture, which is his passion. He has been Chairman of La Sept television channel since 1989, and was President of Arte from its launch until 2011. He is also Chairman of the Board of the Théâtre du Châtelet; an Administrator of the Musée d’Orsay; Administrator of La Femis; a Member of the senate of the Deutsche Nationalstiftung in Berlin; and has published a number of novels and essays.

  • Alain Cadiou

    Alain Cadiou is an Hon. Inspector-General of Finance and a former pupil of the Ecole Nationale des Impôts. He has an advanced degree in Private Law, and was Director General des Douanes & des Droits Indirects before becoming Administrator-Director General of Banque Hervet. From 2000-02 he was Secretary-General of the anti-money-laundering agency TRACFIN, then Inspector General of CCF (HSBC France from 2005) until September 2009, when he became head of PIASA.

    Henri-Pierre hails from the Auvergne region of central France, and always wished to become an auctioneer. After ten years working for an étude judiciaire (specializing in court-order sales) in Paris, then five years running an art gallery, he joined PIASA in 2001. He has an extensive clientele of notaries and institutions, and a widespread provincial network. Henri-Pierre staged PIASA's first sale of Haute Epoque, and is at your service to carry out inventories and advise you how best to sell your property.

    Delphine de Courtry is one of PIASA’s three Auctioneer-Directors. After reading Law, History of Art and Institutional Communication at Celsa, Delphine joined PIASA as a trainee, rising through the ranks to become a Director in 2005. She is at your disposal to carry out inventories, and contributes enthusiastically to the staging of sales of Asian Art, Modern Art, H.M. Petiet Prints, and Photography (Delphine was responsible for launching Photography sales at PIASA).

    After studying History and the Art Market in Brittany then Paris, Françoise spent ten years at Christie’s before joining PIASDA in 2009, placing her experience and work ethic at the service of team management, developing client services, and supervising catalogued sales from A to Z.

    Catherine is a qualified accountant and auditor. After 11 years’ working in accounting and auditing, she joined PIASA in 1997. As Financial Director, she supervises the firm’s finances and manages questions relating to human resources.

    Elisabeth is a qualified auctioneer, who began her career in Versailles, before working in the French provinces. She then helped found France's first auctioneering group and launch Drouot Estimations, before a spell working at the Hôtel Drouot. Armed with her legendary rigour, she then moved along Rue Drouot to ensure the smooth-running of every aspect of the PIASA machine – from auction-planning to the security of goods consigned for sale.

    Lucie-Eléonore has a degree in Political Science and studied at the Decorative & Fine Art academies in Paris. She is responsible for establishing PIASA's visual identity and brand image, and ensuring the visual continuity and coherence in all the firm's publications – from sale catalogues to advertisements, via press dossiers and the firm's website.

    Stéphanie joined PIASA in 1996 after obtaining a degree in History of Art. She is passionately interested in precious stones, and obtained a diploma from France’s National Gemmology Institute in 2007. Her experience and dynamism underpin her role as PIASA’s Head of Sales for Jewellery, Ceramics, and Letters & Manuscripts.

    A graduate of the Paris-Cergy Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts, Stéphanie obtained a specialist degree in Painting & Graphic Art at IESA, then a specialist masters in the Art Market in London. After working for several years for an Old Master expert and various auctioneers, Stéphanie Veyron now brings his professional skills to the service of PIASA’s sales of Modern Art and Prints.

    After studying as a notary, Maxime opted for the art market by enrolling at ICART, a training college specializing in the art market. He joined PIASA soon afterwards, first working mainly in the salerooms at Drouot, then as Head of Sales of 20th Century Decorative Arts, where he enjoyed great success from the outset. Maxime is your prime contact for all purchases, sales or valuations in the field of Decorative Art.

    Luc is a former Heritage official who joined PIASA after gaining valuable experience in the museum and conservation milieu. His studies of History and History of Art fostered his taste for works of art, which he now handles on a daily basis. His work in client relations makes him your contact when collecting all paintings, prints or drawings bought at auction. He is also in charge of storage, and oversees our 2nd floor viewing-rooms used for prestige sales.

    After obtaining a degree in Philosophy and doctorate in Anthropology, Benoît obtained a diploma in accountancy before joining PIASA’s accounts department in 2006. He has been in charge of client reception since 2009, and is therefore one of the first persons you will meet if you consign goods at PIASA. Benoît is also in charge of our Haute Epoque sales, devoted to Medieval and Renaissance works of art.

    Gaëlle joined PIASA in 1999, working initially for Vendors’ Accounts, and now has a BTS (advanced diploma) in accountancy. As head of Buyers’ Accounts, she is buyers’ principal contact, providing information on VAT, collecting payments, issuing bidding slips and chasing up outstanding invoices. She also helps draw up the end-of-year balance-sheet.

    After studying economics, and working as a production assistant, Isabelle has been an auction clerk for 22 years. She is a lively presence on the rostrum at most of our sales, and your likely interlocutor – in French or English – if you pay for your purchase in the saleroom.

  • Pascal Loubère

    An interior architect by training, but always attracted by the art market, Pascal naturally ended up at the great crossroads of Drouot. He has been a crieur for 22 ans, mainly for PIASA, helping to create a buzz in the saleroom with his legendary zest and gift of the gab. You are sure to see him at our sales, to-ing and fro-ing around the saleroom, and relaying the auctioneer’s indications.
