PIASA RIVE GAUCHE - Michel Deverne Wood, metal, paper Paul Kingma Architectural tables - 25th June 2014 at 7 pm

PIASA’sfinal sale of the season at the Espace Rive Gauchewill be held on Wednesday June 25 (7pm), when the firm’s Design Department will be staging a dialogue between Michel Deverne & Paul Kingma – two great 20th century artists imbued with timeless architectural inspiration – in a setting designed by Dorothée Meilichzon.

PIASA are offering an exceptional collection of around sixty unique works by the celebrated French artist and sculptor Michel Deverne (1927-2012).
Michel Devernedrew much of his artistic inspiration from architecture and the city. His studies in both fine art and decorative art – at the Ecole des BeauxArts and Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris – enabled him to master a range of techniques. His use of metal (especially aluminium), mosaic, tapestry and collage lend his public commissions a powerfully
architectural feel.
