  • PIASA will continue to chart the history of ceramics on 12 April 2018, when nearly 80 unique works by Milan’s Guido De Zan will be offered during the sale of Italian Design. The pieces come from De Zan’s personal collection, and form the first part of the auction.

PIASA RIVE GAUCHE - Michel Deverne Wood, metal, paper Paul Kingma Architectural tables - 25th June 2014 at 7 pm

PIASA’sfinal sale of the season at the Espace Rive Gauchewill be held on Wednesday June 25 (7pm), when the firm’s Design Department will be staging a dialogue between Michel Deverne & Paul Kingma – two great 20th century artists imbued with timeless architectural inspiration – in a setting designed by Dorothée Meilichzon.

PIASA are offering an exceptional collection of around sixty unique works by the celebrated French artist and sculptor Michel Deverne (1927-2012).
Michel Devernedrew much of his artistic inspiration from architecture and the city. His studies in both fine art and decorative art – at the Ecole des BeauxArts and Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris – enabled him to master a range of techniques. His use of metal (especially aluminium), mosaic, tapestry and collage lend his public commissions a powerfully
architectural feel.
